School Holiday Activities

When it comes to holidaying in Byron, families are spoilt for choice when selecting activities.

School holidays are a great time to visit with so many things to do.

There are many hours of fun to be enjoyed on Byron’s beautiful beaches. Our beaches are great for the whole family and perfect for swimming, surfing and boogie boarding. For those wishing to take it one step further, there are a number of Surf Schools to teach all ages and ability levels.

The top park at Main Beach is the perfect place for parents to enjoy their morning coffee, whilst the kids release some energy on the swings & climbing equipment.

There are a great number of shops, cafés & restaurants in town to suit all tastes. Mums can enjoy eclectic shopping, the kids can spend their pocket money and dads will be happy browsing the shops and/or waiting in a café with the newspaper!

The Markets can be found in Byron & its surrounding areas each weekend. They are in Byron on the first Sunday of every month and in Bangalow on the 4th Sunday of every month. There is a variety of entertainment, arts & crafts, funky clothing and food for all ages, definitely worth a visit.

Byron has a world class golf course to suit golfing enthusiasts, providing a sitter can be arranged for the kids. However, the whole family can enjoy a game on the family friendly Teven Golf Course which is a 30 minute drive through beautiful countryside from Byron Bay.

Family activities are close at hand in the hinterland & surrounding areas.

Macadamia Castle is a popular venue for families with young children. The main highlights being the animal feeding sessions, mini golf & tree house playground. It is located at Knockrow on the Pacific Highway & is about a 20 minute drive from Byron.

Crystal Castle is another popular destination for families. There are extended gardens with giant crystals and sacred statues. They also provide free face painting for children every weekend and school holidays. It is a 20 minute drive from Byron through the scenic hinterland.

We hope we have wet your appetite with a taste of family friendly fun. This is by no means an exhaustive list of things to do. Part of Byron’s beauty is to search and make your own discoveries. We are sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
